My number one priority as the Liberal Member for Pembroke is growing the state’s economy and creating jobs. Unfortunately, Tasmania has had the highest rate of unemployment in the country under the previous government, and the Liberal Government is working hard to turn this around. We are making the changes people voted for and that Tasmania needs.
We understand that there are no silver bullets and that we don’t have all the answers, but we are delivering our long-term Plan to grow the economy and ensure Tasmania is open for business. Our long-term Plan for the state will:
Tackle the job crisis;
Build on our competitive strengths, to create jobs;
Cut red and green tape to help businesses grow and employ more people;
Rebuild essential services; and
Fix the budget mess.
As a Member of the Liberal Government, I am extremely proud to be able to represent all the people of Pembroke in the strong, stable majority government our state needs.
We are a government that speaks with one voice and has a mandate to get things done.
Pembroke will benefit significantly from the new government’s policies to invest in frontline services, growing the economy and creating more jobs, and fixing the budget mess.
I have always advocated for my constituents on the issues that matter most to them. I’ve sought to assist with problems relating to utility bills and connecting with government services, to resolving neighbourhood concerns around problem trees.
My door is always open if ever I can help you or your family.
First 100 Days of Government
At the March election Tasmanians voted for strong, stable majority Government and a long-term Plan to get things done.
We understand that there are no silver bullets, but from our first day in office we have got on with the job of delivering our election promises.
During the election we set out our Plan for our first 100 days in office.
We have met every one of those commitments – and more.
The new Government is determined to keep up the momentum to change Tasmania for the better.
Having seen what can be done in just 100 days through hard work and by having a clear Plan for the future, we are more confident than ever that Tasmanians have a brighter future ahead.
You can find more details of the actions taken in the first 100 days of a majority Liberal Government here.
As the Attorney General, Minister for Justice, Minister for the Arts and Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council, I am honoured to be a part of the Liberal Government.
I am responsible for delivering on a range of commitments and I am pleased to report that I have:
As well as these important policies, as a Minister I have been working diligently to meet with important stakeholders from across my portfolios and engaging with the departments.
As your elected representative and a Cabinet Minister in the Liberal Government, I am committed to working hard for my electorate and delivering the Liberal Government’s long term plan for Tasmania.
